  Dr. Peter Ho, MD

Dr. Peter M. Ho was born and raised in Taiwan. He obtained both undergraduate and medical degree from National Taiwan University. To pursue his interest in eye research, he went on to Baylor College of Medicine in Houston to obtain a PhD in retinal biochemistry and neuroscience. He published several scientific papers in vitamin A and vitamin D in retina. In 1989, he moved to Lubbock to join the Texas Tech Ophthalmology Department and completed his residency training in 1993. He has been in private practice since then and has expertise in a wide variety of eye diseases including glaucoma, cataract, eye trauma, retinal diseases, macular degeneration, diabetic eye complications, functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery, special contact lenses, low vision and laser vision correction.

Dr. Ho is board certified by American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology. He founded Lubbock Eye Clinic in 1999 to promote excellence in professional eye care. Dr. Lucy Massey joined in spring of 2000 as an associate. Dr. Ho was voted as the best Ophthalmologist for the year 2000 by the Lubbock Avalanche Journal.

Dr. Ho is married to Lillian Chou, MD for 21 years and together they have raised three lovely children. Dr. Chou is a radiation oncologist and has practiced cancer treatment in both Southwest Cancer Center and Joe Arrington Cancer center. Other than his medical practice, Dr. Ho is also very involved in community service. He has served on the board of Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Society to Prevent Blindness, and Asian American Association. He is also an elder and Sunday school teacher of Lubbock Chinese Church. He and his wife founded HoChou Foundation in 1999 to promote educational and cultural excellence in West Texas. They truly love the land and the people in West Texas and strive to make it a better place to live.

Darrin Peterson, O.D.

Dr Peterson was born in Reno Nevada and later moved to Sacramento CA.  He attended Brigham Young University Idaho where he received his Bachelors in biology.  During that time, he served a two year mission for his church in the Hawaiian Islands Before attending optometry school.  Dr. Peterson worked for the largest pathology group in Northern California. 

​Dr Peterson attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where he received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2012.  Shortly after graduation, he joined Lubbock Ophthalomology Associates in 2012. Dr Peterson is married and has 5 children.
